Respect your view . . . but what's the argument . . .
What's the argument that large numbers of people will still care enough about Notre Dame football 20 years from now to warrant something akin to the current NBC contract, and regular network appearances for road games, etc.?
You have to admit that hardly anyone in college today has a clue who Tony Rice is or was. How long can ND keep selling nostalgia and getting enough high caliber athletes to come to South Bend to be better than 8-4? (I think hardly anyone that age really remembers Mike Vick today either, for what it is worth.)
Again, please don't take this as a criticism or lack of respect. I just don't see how ND can keep selling itself as a special product for 20 more years when its success has been trending down for almost 30 years now.
